The hunting grounds of Negotinska Krajna are located at the very east of the
country. They cover an area of over 100.000 hectares made of about 32.200 ha
of forests and forest land (mostly oak forests, ash, locus tree and beech),
22.800 ha of meadows, and about 41.000 ha of fields. The relief of the
hunting grounds is divided into three parts: the Negotin plain, the mountain
plateau, and the relief of the mountain rim including the mountain massifs
of Deli Jovan and Miroč. Its altitude spans from 32 to 546 meters. The
climate in the area is temperate continental, belonging to the central
european climate zone.
The average summer temperature comes to 23.2 ˚C.
The hunting grounds are also rich in numerous rivers, streams, especially
short watercourses which the hunting grounds are abundant in. The game
inhabiting the area are provided with all the peace and quiet they require.
The above mentioned natural and ecological characteristics, as well as the
vivid flora and fauna provide the ideal grounds for breeding and developing
various game for hunting purposes.
The hunting grounds are aslo equipped with breeding and hunting-technical
facilities as well as very stable shooting stands – watchtowers, shooting
stands on trees, salt licks, waterplaces and remodelled walkways. Tourists
and hunters are well taken care of by skilled and educated guides from the
local hunting ground department who are also equipped with terrain vehicles
for scouting the area. In addition, there are hunting lodges that provide
accomodation as well as delicious meals for hunters.
The most commonly bred game species are: mountain deer, fallow deer, mouflon,
roe deer, wild boar, hare, pheasant and the polish partridge. The hunting
grounds are rich in other game as well: wild duck, turtledove, quail,
pigeon, wolf, jackal, fox, wild cat, marten...

The
hunting ground „Negotinska Krajina“ which is under the
husbandry of the „Hajduk Veljko“ Hunting Association from Negotin
encompasses the most of the area of the municipality of Negotin. Its
span is 96.423 hecteres. The Hunting Association „Hajduk Veljko“ was
founded in 1896 and is one of the oldest hunting
associations in Serbia. The association counts over 800 members
and has been awarded with the highest awards for its work and management
in the field. In its ownership there is a contemporary pheasant farm,
capacity of 15.000 pheasant chicks, and a cold storage
for storing game. Over 5.000 pheasant adults are
annualy released into the hunting grounds. In addition, the hunting
society annualy puts about 5.000 kilograms of big game meat
on the market. |
The hunting grounds „Srbijasume“ , which is the husbandry of
the public corporation „Srbijasume“ Belgrade, are enclosed big game
hunting grounds. It encompasses three coplexes: the hunting ground „Vratna“
and the hunting ground „Alija“, each spanning about 300 hecteres, and
the hunting ground „Deli Jovan“ spanning about 500 hectares. The most
common game species present in these parts are: fallow deer, mouflon,
wild boar and regular deer. |
