Natural values  - Cliffs of Mokranje

About 10 kilometers southern of Negotin, close to the village Mokranje, the river of Sikole has created a wonderful waterfall and a beautiful lake. Although of his modest size, this place called Cliffs of Mokranje, is a popular beach resort of surrounding villages and inhabitants of Negotin.


It is assumed that during the Roman era, two largest stones are connected by a bridge. On the peaks of the rocks archaeologists found a lot of old cases from that period. It is also assumed that under a rocks there is a cave, called “Hajducka pecina”. On the cave bottom there is beautiful lake with waterfall. On the upper part of the river flow there is another lake, much deeper. Both lakes are rich in fish.

In the immediate vicinity of the famous wine region and with the unavoidable wine cellars, as well as hunting grounds “Alija” that extends on over 300 hectares.
